Rev. Michael Bowyer is a grace enthusiast, who has lived, served, and worked here in Hamilton since 2005. Along with serving here at Philpott he facilitates the RAY (Reduce Anger Yourself) Program for the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board, and Sister Care Ministry to Sex-Trade Workers with his wife Diane. He's a Steering Committee member and the Co-Founder of 541 Eatery & Exchange, site on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hamilton, is a Kiwanian, a Chaplain for the OHL Hamilton Bulldogs, and a Chaplain with the Canadian Armed Forces 31 Signal Regiment. He has served in various churches and para-church ministries since 1992. Michael's philosophy of ministry flows from learning the lived meaning of Matthew 25. He's a Management Team Member with Unitas Community Safety and Support Services for transitional housing, homelessness, and the Out of the Cold. He's a trained Chef and continues to enjoy food, customer service, and Sustainable Development community projects that engage people to their full missional potential. Michael is married with three children and is a graduate of Tyndale (BRS) & McMaster (MDiv).
